The ‘I am Karachi’ peace debate competition is a project undertaken in partnership with the Karachi Youth Initiative as a part of the “I am Karachi” campaign to encourage debates on peace and direct students towards non-violent activities. The debate competition will take place on April 27,th 28,th 29th and May 2nd 2015 at the Karachi Institute of Technology and Entrepreneurship and will include schools located in Korangi, Lyari and Sultanabad. There will be a total of 1800 participants from 150 schools and children will be given a platform to voice their concerns about the current situation of Karachi as well as demonstrate their passion to ensure a more promising future for the city. Such events are essential to ensure children belonging to violent areas do not fall prey to terrorist activities and have a channel to help develop a positive mindset..
